The snowy forests of Umeå witnessed a masterclass in rally engineering as Toyota Gazoo Racing secured a breathtaking 1-2-3-4 finish at Rally Sweden 2026. Led by the faultless Elfyn Evans, Toyota became the first manufacturer since 2010 to achieve back-to-back podium lockouts, leaving their rivals in the dust (and snow).
Elfyn Evans and co-driver Scott Martin delivered a composed final-day performance to secure their first win of the season and take control of the FIA World Rally Championship standings.
Evans Commands the Final Leg
Entering the final day with a 13.3-second lead, Evans managed his pace strategically across the last three stages. Despite intense pressure from teammate Takamoto Katsuta, the Welshman maintained his composure to win by 14.3 seconds.
- Championship Lead: With 60 points after two rounds, Evans now holds a 13-point lead over Oliver Solberg.
- Historic Milestone: This victory marks Evans’ third win in Sweden and propels Toyota to a commanding 52-point lead in the manufacturers’ standings.
The Toyota Powerhouse
The leaderboard at the end of Sunday was a testament to the GR Yaris Rally1’s supremacy on ice:

- Takamoto Katsuta: Chased his maiden win but fell short due to Saturday’s grip issues.
- Sami Pajari: The rising star secured his second career podium.
- Oliver Solberg: Recovered brilliantly from a Friday puncture to complete the Toyota lockout.
