Škoda has partnered with Upstream Security to strengthen cybersecurity across its connected vehicles, digital services, and supporting systems.

Škoda Auto has entered into a strategic partnership with Upstream Security to enhance cybersecurity across its connected vehicles, digital services, and supporting systems.

As the automaker’s digital footprint continues to expand, Škoda aims to adopt a unified and proactive approach to managing cyber-related risks, improving operational resilience and meeting increasing regulatory requirements.

Unified cybersecurity management across systems

Under the partnership, Škoda will consolidate cyber threat intelligence, risk signals, and security-related data into a single centralized environment accessible to teams across the organization. The platform is designed to improve collaboration, provide earlier visibility into emerging risks, and reduce manual effort related to compliance and internal reporting.

The connected vehicle ecosystem has become increasingly complex, extending potential attack surfaces beyond the vehicle itself to include cloud environments, internal IT systems, consumer applications, charging infrastructure, and supply-chain partners.

Regulatory compliance a key driver

Regulatory frameworks such as UNECE WP.29 R155 and ISO/SAE 21434 require automakers to implement structured cybersecurity monitoring, documentation, and risk management processes. Škoda says the partnership with Upstream supports these requirements by organizing evidence, decisions, and actions within a single structured workspace.

This approach enables cybersecurity and engineering teams to review findings, share context, document decisions, and prepare for audits more efficiently.

Executive comments

“Our partnership with Upstream supports our activities required under R155 and helps us build more robust cybersecurity resilience across our ecosystem,” said Miroslav Sivous, Threat Intelligence expert at Škoda Auto.

Yoav Levy, Co-founder and CEO of Upstream Security, said Škoda’s approach demonstrates how automakers can improve cybersecurity maturity through structured operational processes.
