Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda has been awarded the celebrated Golden Steering Wheel for Lifetime Achievement one of Europe’s most respected and influential automotive honors. Presented by the major publishing group Springer, the award recognizes industry leaders who have made an exceptional contribution to the automotive world.
Established in 1976, the Golden Steering Wheel has become a benchmark for excellence. Its honorary category, launched in 1983, is reserved for the most impactful executives shaping the global future of mobility.

Akio Toyoda became President of Toyota in 2009 amid one of the most challenging periods in the company’s history. Under his leadership, Toyota strengthened its global financial performance, rebuilt market confidence, and accelerated its long-term mobility strategy.
